Many thanks for your post, Stuart. Max Morley and I have discussed that kind of surgery by e-mail, and I'm considering it even more seriously now that I know (because of your experience) that if I send my pipe back again and wait a few weeks I might get one that doesn't fit any better than this one -- and now that I know that cutting the headpipe is working OK for someone. I'm considering sending the SuperTrapp back and telling them to keep it and call me when they implement better QA, but I probably won't; I do like the pipe.
It's interesting, too, that while SuperTrapp is telling me that they have no Savage pipes and won't for a month or more, they're still shipping them to new customers.
